Preparing for Spiritual Warfare
Advancing God's Will | 2 Samuel 18
In this week's Shepherd King message, we explore 2 Samuel 18 and the challenging realities of spiritual warfare. This chapter reveals a hard truth: not everyone we love will turn back to God. Yet, even in the midst of pain and loss, we can trust God’s sovereignty to bring restoration, hope, and redemption.
Through David’s response, we see what it looks like to stay faithful and prepared in the face of life’s most difficult moments:
1. Do the Right Thing Now
Put God first by living out your God-given purpose.
Make a plan, stay organized, and trust the people around you.
Lead with humility by listening and learning in every situation.
2. Trust God’s Plan
While it’s heartbreaking when loved ones don’t turn to God, we can trust His heart and His desire for all to come to repentance.
3. Accept Reality and Keep Moving Forward
David mourned deeply for Absalom, yet he trusted God’s sovereignty to restore him to the throne.
Even when God’s plan doesn’t align with our expectations, He is working all things for good.
This message encourages us to remain steadfast, trusting that God’s will is always advancing—even when life feels overwhelming.
